Skyrim Get Mehrune Razor

Skyrim Get Mehrunes’ Razor

In Skyrim, the hero should get Mehrunes’ Razor as it is one of the better daggers in the skyrim game, having a damage of 19 and a chance to instantly defeat an enemy including a dragon. Get Mehrunes’ Razor is the Pieces of the Past quest, where Silus Vesuius asks the hero to get and assemble the hilt, the blade shards and the pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor. This will guide the hero in getting the hilt, the blade shards and the pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor from Jorgen in Morthal, Ghunzul in Cracked Tusk Keep and from Drascua in Dead Crone Rock respectively.

Skyrim Get the Blade Shards of Mehrunes’ Razor from Ghunzul

In Skyrim, the hero receives a letter from the skyrim courier to meet with Silus Vesuius of the Mythic Dawn Order in Dawnstar. Silus Vesuius wants the hero to retrieve the blade shards of Mehrunes’ Razor from Ghunzul in Cracked Tusk Keep. To get to Cracked Tusk Keep, simply go to Falkreath, and then head west until Cracked Tusk Keep is reached. This is really a fortress assault and dungeon crawl mission. Just finish off all the orcs outside Cracked Tusk Keep and head inside and find Ghunzul. Ghunzul is likely an orc dressed in stunning heavy armor. Defeat him using the fastest and most destructive way possible, and get the Cracked Tusk Vault Key from him. Now go downstairs into Cracked Tusk Vault and open the gate to get the blade shards of Mehrunes’ Razor. The hero needs to use the Cracked Tusk Vault Key to open the cover revealing the button and then use the button to open the gate.

Skyrim Get the Hilt of Mehrunes’ Razor from Jorgen

Skyrim Get Mehrunes’ Razor

In Skyrim, the next part of the Pieces of the Past Quest involves traveling to Morthal and talking to Jorgen (just follow the marker on the map / compass to reach Jorgen). Speak to Jorgen in Morthal, and learn that he is keeping the hilt of Mehrunes’ Razor as an ancestral treasure somewhere in his house. Now go inside his house, go into sneak mode and steal the hilt of Mehrunes’ Razor from the chest directly in front of Jorgen’s bed.

Skyrim Get Pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor from Drascua in Dead Crone Rock

In Skyrim, the hardest part of the pieces of the past quest involves the hero getting the pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor from Drascua. First the hero actually has to get to Dead Crone Rock and this is a challenge in itself. From Markath stables (west of Karthspire), head south and then northeast to reach Hag Rock Redoubt first. Hag Rock Redoubt is another Forsworn camp swarming with all sorts of Forsworn. It is suggested that the hero just makes a run up the stairs for the entrance into Dead Crone Rock. If the hero has the dragon shout ethereal, use it and run for the entrance of Dead Crone Rock. Alternatively, as in outside areas with lots of enemies or Forsworn, the hero can summon Odahviing to help him if he so chooses.

In Skyrim Dead Crone Rock, the hero will enter and find a passage straight ahead and one to the right. Head to the right and up the stairs to a circular room with three exits, one of them being an iron gate. This iron gate has to be lowered to reach Drascua. Move out of the exit that is open, take out the Forsworn here and then follow the passage to find a lever which the hero must pull to unlock the iron gate inside Dead Crone Rock. There is also a book next to the lever which will increase the hero’s Alchemy skills.

Now move back to the circular room, and move past the iron gate in Dead Crone Rock (which is now open) and head outside into Skyrim. Climb the stairs slowly and spot Drascua at the sacrificial altar. Drascua is actually a hagraven, not a vampire. To defeat Drascua, one can either use the “bow and arrows coming up the stairs tactics“, or just rush forward to engage Drascua. Be careful of the firetrap just in front of Drascua. The easiest way for the mage hero to defeat Drascua is to use dual destruction magic spells. One particularly useful dragon shout here is the complete Slow Time Dragon Shout. Use this and slow time so much that the mage hero can deal massive amounts of damage to Drascua before she can retaliate. Once Drascua is defeated, pick up the pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor from Drascua’s body. Search Drascua’s lair to find some useful items including a glass sword if the hero is high enough level, a paralysis potion and the dead crone rock key. Remember to read off the Dismay, Fear Dragon Shout Word of Power behind Drascua’s sacrificial altar.

Skyrim Get Blade Shards, Hilt and Pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor to Silus Vesuius

In Skyrim, once the hero has the blade shards, hilt and pommel of Mehrunes’ Razor, head back to Silus Vesuius at Dawnstar. Silus Vesuius tells the hero a dark secret – the Mehrunes’ Razor is actually a daedric weapon belonging to the daedric Prince of Destruction Mehrunes Dagon. Silus wants to meet the hero at the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon. This concludes part one of the Mehrunes’ Razor daedric weapons series.
