In No Man’s Sky, the hero must travel through planet and space, exploring planet and the outer space and find useful material to build into things and move towards the centre of the universe.

The first few steps involve getting material to repair

• thrust engine
• pulse engine

Then take off and get the hyperdrive. Follow the path of the Atlas and get richer and more powerful.

In No Man’s Sky, both the exosuit and space shuttle inventory space is very limited initially. You need to find ways to increase the inventory.
